John Black

Chief Executive Officer

John Black is a physiologist with educational background from Bowling Green State University. As an allied health professional John has experience in developing new medical devices including design, regulatory approval and market launch. John has extensive industry sales management experience in Diagnostic Imaging, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery and Capital Equipment segments. John finds professional fulfillment as a partner in cancer therapy innovations.

Mina Fahim

Chief Technology Officer

Mina joined the MediView team excited to simplify minimally invasive procedures, enhance clinical workflow and improve patient outcomes. His background includes product development and R&D at Excelen, Abbott and, most recently, Medtronic. His experience spans orthopedics, diagnostics/hematology, structural heart & electrophysiology. Mina believes that developing MediView's surgical augmented reality navigation platform in partnership with the Cleveland Clinic is a unique opportunity to deliver a solution for long-standing clinical needs. His educational background includes a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering and a Masters of Science in Management of Technology/Innovation. Outside of work he enjoys serving on mission trips with SALT Mission Group, spending time with his family & friends and exercising with his wife Monika.

Greg Miller

Chief Information Officer

Greg Miller was the former CIO and a Co-Founder of CentraComm Communications, a leading managed service provider established in 2001. Before starting CentraComm Greg led a software development team in the creation of tools and data acquisition components for SCADA systems. Greg brings to Mediview a unique blend of technical and engineering competencies that serve him well as CIO. In this role, Greg is responsible for managing all MediView systems infrastructure as well as leading the design of systems processes and rollout. Greg was a Scholar-Athlete at Purdue University, where he received a bachelor of science degree with distinction in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He also has achieved numerous certifications relevant to his industry related to systems, networking, and security.

Jeff Yanof

Sr. Principal Research Engineer

Dr. Yanof has 25+ years of leadership experience in the medical imaging industry with a focus on surgical guidance and navigation systems, 3D multi-modality medical visualization, and informatics. He has a long track record of successful R&D and commercialization including pioneering innovation (14 issued patents), NIH funding procurement (>$2M), first-of-its-kind system development, pre-market notifications, first-in-human evaluations, and clinical collaboration leading to widely adopted products. Dr. Yanof is presently a Sr. Principal Research Engineer in the Holographic Interventional Technology (HIT) Lab, Dept. of Biomedical Engineering (BME), Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute and earned a Ph.D. in BME with a focus on medical imaging and image processing.

Paul Klahr

Software Development

Paul Klahr has over 30 years experience in the Medical Imaging industry. He worked at a CT scanner manufacturer and during his tenure he developed software all of the sub-systems of the scanner. He was also the chief software architect for one of the first commercial CT image-guided biopsy systems. This system integrated a position tracking mechanical arm with the CT scanner. His last position at the CT company was Clinical Research Scientist in the area of CT utilization in Radiation Oncology departments. In this capacity, he worked in conjunction with clinical partners and developed software prototypes to evaluate new applications in this arena.

Aydan Hanlon

Research Engineer

Aydan Hanlon is a Research Engineer with a degree in Engineering Physics from John Carroll University. As a biomedical research professional, Aydan is skilled in the research and design of surgical navigation and image guidance platform technology, numerical analysis, technical writing, software development of Augmented/Virtual Reality applications in Unity 3D, and anatomical segmentation from DICOM data sets. Going forward, Aydan will focus on researching and further developing our platform technology.

Sara Al-Nimer

Research Engineer

Sara Al-Nimer is a Research Engineer in the Biomedical Engineering Department in the Lerner Research Institute at Cleveland Clinic. Her accumulated expertise largely aids in bridging the fields of Mathematics and Biomedical engineering. Sara holds BS degrees in Mathematics and Psychology as well as a MS in Biomedical Engineering from Cleveland State University.

After completing her undergraduate honors research project in Cleveland Clinic Children’s hospital, which centered on the study of cognitive functioning of children with ADHD, she was compelled to take on immense interests in medical imaging research and medical devices.

In 2017, she completed an internship at Cleveland Medical Devices, Inc., gaining exposure to medical device validation testing, as well as vital areas of regulatory affairs and clinical personnel training on device use. Sara’s interest in leveraging the capabilities of AR/VR/XR in healthcare started in Cleveland State University, as her Master’s graduation project focused on developing a proof-of-concept AR application for preliminary verification of an AR-guided biopsy needle.

Since then, Sara joined Cleveland Clinic’s Biomedical engineering research team, working with physicians on various projects in image-guided therapies using AR/XR. During her time at Cleveland Clinic, she collaboratively worked on writing NIH small business grants, internal grants and IRB protocols. Furthermore, she brings expertise in statistical analysis, segmentation of DICOM datasets, 3D-CAD modeling and design, and is a co-inventor of the ultrasound-guided RTFHV technology (patent pending). She enjoys giving back to the community by serving as a member of Cuyahoga County Community College’s Biomedical Manufacturing Advisory Board and as a member of Beech Brook Behavioral and Mental Health Center’s Emerging Leaders Board.

Crew Weunski

Research Student

Crew is a research student with a background in physics from John Carroll University. He has experience in statistical and data analyses, segmentation of patient anatomy from computed tomography DICOM data sets, and utilizing the Unity 3D platform for AR/VR application development. Crew will be working toward system optimization and development of the platform technology for MediView.

Luke Glick

Vice President Engineering

Luke Glick is a graduate of Northwest State and is serving as Vice President, Engineering. Luke Glick is an expert in manufacturing and fabrication processes with multiple innovations in the medical device industry. Luke will be focused on implementing production, manufacturing and meeting ISO standards for MediView.
